Marine Repair Services

What we Do !

Our company, MARSE, has been active in steel maintenance on board ships.
We are wet blasting any part of the ship, but mainly Ballast Tanks, Deck, Hatch Coamings, Hatch Covers, Cargo Holds.
This is carried out onboard, with no delays and not affecting ship’s commercial obligations.
Our goal is best results with minimum fuss. That is why we are using WETBLASTING.
Why wet blasting?
Wet blasting, similarly to dry blasting, is the use of an abrasive media and compressed air to achieve a desired finish on a chosen surface.
However, wet blasting uses a liquid, in this case fresh water, to enhance the levels of surface finish that can be achieved. The benefit o is a much smoother and more consistent finish.
There is a much more even flow across the surface when using wet blasting systems. Thus, less damage is done to steel with consistent result across the whole surface. .

Our Expertise

Blasting, Painting and Cleaning

Wet-blasting, and coating are our specialties. And that's exactly what our riding team with a greek team leader assigned do .

Why not hydro blasting? – Hydro blasting cracks paint at the edge of the treated area while forcing water underneath the coating, that will continue oxidizing the steel and shortly you will notice rust emerging around previously treated areas. The only way to avoid this is by scrapping surrounding area, even 10 times bigger than target – depending on coating type, thickness and age – and achieve a smooth coating edge, instead of the perpendicular edge profile. Otherwise, one needs heavy and expensive hydro blasting equipment which is not intrinsically safe for use on Oil Tankers. And still, you will face flash-rust.
We will arrange - with appropriate support - to present equipment and personnel at the desired port.
We are focusing on recruiting professional sandblasters, for best possible quality and speed.
By carrying out maintenance on board, you will be investing in less steel renewal at next repair period, less dry-docking fees, less stay in shipyard.

Additionally, it will be carried out at your convenience and not tied up in the ship yard.
You know when de-rusting and painting has to be carried out. By carrying it out when you should, you arrest corrosion and stop its exponential progression.
